About ABA Therapy

ABA therapy is based on the science of behavior and study of learning. It has been extensively researched, empirically validated, and found to produce significant positive outcomes in children

with developmental delays.

The two primary goals through ABA therapy are to increase socially significant behaviors and to reduce behaviors that have been identified as hindering a child’s ability to acquire new skills.

Meet our Clinical & ABA Director

I have had a desire to work with children for as long as I can remember.  This led me to pursue a bachelors degree in psychology at Florida International University where I was introduced to the field of ABA. As I began working with children in a 1:1 setting as an RBT, I was captivated by  the meaningful improvements that were possible in the lives of not only the children that we serve, but also their families. I quickly became aware of the significant improvements that can be accomplished with the appropriate training, patience, and an immense desire to serve others.

After completing my degree at FIU, I worked as a BCaBA while pursing my masters degree in Professional Behavior Analysis at The Florida Institute of Technology. Within ABA I have found an amazing science through which we can assist in making significant improvements to the overall quality of life of our clients and their families. Today, I am blessed to serve as Clinical Director for DS Therapies where I am committed to sharing my passion for behavior analysis alongside our dedicated RBT’s as we continue pursing our mission of providing our families with outstanding behavior therapy services.

Meet our Counseling Services Director

A beautiful childhood filled with cultural experiences and volunteer work in different countries, and my innate passion for understanding human behavior and psychology, led me to use my God-given purpose of service to help others as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I am a proud graduate of Florida International University (FIU), where I completed a Master of Science in professional counseling psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I conducted assessments, parent training, and parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) for children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional-Defiant Disorder, learning difficulties, and related disruptive behavior problems at the Center for Children and Families (CCF). I also have experience with individual psychotherapy working with children and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and trauma-related disorders using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

I have been blessed to be part of the Divine Savior Family since 2018 as the School Counseling Director at Divine Savior Academy, providing support for all students' academic, personal, social, and spiritual development. I believe collaboration and communication among helping professionals from other disciplines are necessary in any intervention approach. I am blessed to now be part of a multi-disciplinary team of therapists at DST that target all different areas of functioning.
